As we age our skin changes.  These changes often include dry, flaky or scaly discolored areas that appear on the skin. Typically these areas are a precancerous condition called Actinic Keratosis (AK’s) which are caused by long-term sun or tanning bed exposure.  AK’s are frequently found on the skin that has been exposed to the sun such as the lips, face, hands, forearms, neck and head.  Frequent skin checks and annual skin exams help to monitor any skin condition changes.
